Jake Paul believes his under fire brother Logan Paul has “learnt from his mistakes” and will “bounce back” following the backlash over the dead body video controversy.

His brother provoked global outrage and condemnation after he posted a video showing a suspected suicide victim in Japan’s Aokigahara forest on 31 December.

The 22-year-old was later punished by YouTube who removed the popular American vlogger from its Google Preferred platform and put future projects with him on hold.

Despite more than 500,000 people signing a petition calling for YouTube to delete Logan’s channel, the younger Paul has backed his brother to make a comeback.

In a video uploaded on 22 January, Jake said the time was right to “address the elephant in the room” and discuss on his brother’s actions.

“He is honestly truly, truly sorry and I also know how strong a human being he is and so to see him like that, it was sad to me,” he reflected.

“But I think for the Logang (his fans) and all of his supporters … he is going to learn from his mistakes, which he has, and be able to bounce back. I know you guys are going to support him along the way just like I am.”

Jake also revealed why he had decided not to comment on the video until now, explaining he “wanted to let the situation have some time to breathe”.

“Everyone’s asking me to talk about the Logan situation and what happened,” he says in the post which has more than 2.5 million views.

“I know Logan was going through a lot, everyone was talking about it and it didn't feel right to comment on it straight away.

“But as his brother and someone who knows Logan the best, I do feel it is necessary to say something about it or give my perspective about it.”

He continues: “I think what Logan did was very, very, very wrong. He made a huge mistake and not only is he paying for it, but he is learning from it.

“And I think in no way shape or form is suicide a joke, or should be made fun of, in any way shape or form, or any behavioural or mental issue in general. I don’t think it’s right what he did at all.

“I know Logan more than probably anybody else and I do know that he did not mean to offend anyone and I can tell when he’s in shock. He didn’t handle the situation in the right way, but I know in the back of his head he didn't mean to offend or hurt anybody or create such a big frustration.”
