UPDATE: Jada Pinkett-Smith Wasn’t Pleased With Tiffany Haddish’s Golden Globe Snub
UPDATE 12.12 6:30PM: After Smith’ initial remarks, she followed up with several tweets explaining her frustrations with the Golden Globes committee. “I’m not upset about @TiffanHaddish or @GirlsTripMovie not getting a nom… I’m discouraged about the fact that the Hollywood Foreign Press/@goldenglobes wouldn’t even WATCH the movie,” she wrote.
She continued: “Girls Trip was one of the most successful films this summer & Tiff was hands down the funniest person on screen in 2017 and we couldn’t get eyes on the film or a press conference. How could a nom happen & how much more critical acclaim must a movie have to simply get a screening?”

Variety’s Kristopher Tapley later reported, that HFPA members did receive screeners and an invitation to the film’s premiere however, although a press conference for the film never happened.
However, there was no press conference for "Get Out," either, because it was the week of the Oscars, which many HFPA members were covering.

The nominations for the 75th annual Golden Globes were announced Monday, (Dec.11) and a lot of our favorites earned the chance to walk home with the coveted award. However, cousin Tiffany Haddish, (because she’s family now) whose breakout role in Girl’s Trip helped catapult her career, was not among the crop of nominees.
Co-star Jada Pinkett-Smith who has proven she’s never afraid to speak her mind on what she believes are injustices in Hollywood, took to social media to express her disappointment.

Haddish and the rest of the Girl’s Trip cast (Smith, Queen Latifah and Regina Hall) were all denied nominations despite Forbes reporting the film grossed $100 million in the box office. The jarring omission wasn’t lost on fans who also voiced their anger on social media.

Haddish, however, doesn’t seem fazed. The 38-year-old just released her first book, The Last Black Unicorn and also became the first black female comic to host Saturday Night Live. While many are angry, it looks as though Haddish is collecting her coins.
