Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting at the Sandy Run apartment complex Wednesday.

Jacksonville police responded to a call at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday about a person who had been found shot in the area of Arnold Road in Jacksonville, according to a news release Thursday evening.

Officers discovered Ruben Corley Jr., 19, of Jacksonville had suffered a gunshot wound. Witnesses said the incident occurred at the Sandy Run Apartments, and Corley fled the complex after being shot and requested a resident to call for medical assistance.

The release stated Corley was transported to the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune, and was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Following an investigation, the release said it was determined Anthony Stanley, 22, of Jacksonville, fired several rounds at Corley striking him. Stanley was taken into custody Thursday without incident.

Nijear Singleton, 22, of Jacksonville, was also arrested for allegedly conspiring with Stanley after the shooting to dispose of evidence, the release said. Detectives said they discovered Zorriah Yarrell, 22, of Jacksonville, assisted Stanley in evading capture by police, according to the release.

“More arrests are forthcoming and this is still an active and ongoing investigation.” said Investigative Services Supervisor Lieutenant Christopher Funcke.

Stanley was arrested and charged with attempted first degree murder, go armed to the terror the public, discharge of a dangerous weapon, discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle times three, malicious assault in secret, felony conspiracy, and injury to personal property. He is currently under a $650,000 bond, according to the release.

The release also said Singleton was arrested and charged with felony solicit gang activity and accessory after the fact of attempted first degree murder. He is currently under a $50,000 bond.

Yarrell was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of attempted first degree murder, and is currently under a $25,000 bond.
