ACTION: Passed a rezoning request for William J. Lemmon, an agent for McKinley Holdings LLC.

DISCUSSION: The trustees approved a request to rezone acreage zoned as multi-family, suburban office and limited business district and commercial business district to multi-family planned unit development district. The area consists of 18.62 acres located on the east side of Woodlawn Avenue NW and 410 feet south of Hills and Dales Road NW.

The developer will build a residential care facility with independent living villas, and luxury apartments for those 55 and over. The area will include amenities such as pickleball courts, bocce ball, a dog park and a pavilion.

No one spoke against the proposal during the public hearing.

OTHER ACTIONS:

  • Authorized a termination agreement for police Major James Monigold for his current contract. The trustees then approved a new three-year contract with a base salary of $96,000 a year, a $3,500 life insurance policy and a different paid time off plan, effective May 1, 2024.

  • Approved a purchase of five Tasers from Axon Taser for the Police Department for $20,777.

  • Authorized the purchase of a 2024 F150 police responder truck for $54,160. The truck is fully equipped.

  • Approved noxious weed resolutions for the following properties: 7560 Stuhldreher Street NW, 4807 Brunnerdale Avenue NW, 3410 Brunnerdale Avenue NW, 8757 Colton Street NW, Lot 94 in Amherst Heights 3, 4606 20th Street NW, 5615 Portage Street NW, 5617 Portage Street NW, and 7811 Parkford Street NW.
