Jackson teen killed in possible accidental shooting

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A 15-year-old boy is dead after what police describe as a possible accidental shooting over the weekend.

Police say its officers were called to the 900 block of Maple in Jackson shortly after 10:30 Saturday night for a reported shooting in a home.

Police found a 15-year-old boy in an upstairs bedroom with a single gunshot wound to his chest.

The teen has been identified by police as Carter Miller. First responders rushed him to a local hospital where he died.

Several teens were hanging out in the bedroom when the shooting happened, according to police. During interviews with these children, police were told it was an accident.
