Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr. out vs. Washington Wizards

The "next man up" mantra the Memphis Grizzlies use will be tested on Sunday. Leading scorers Ja Morant and Desmond Bane will be out against the Washington Wizards.

Jaren Jackson Jr. also will miss his 14th straight game to start the season, but he was listed as doubtful in the injury report for the first time. Morant and Bane were listed as doubtful, too.

Memphis (9-4) is 0-2 this season in games in which Morant or Bane do not play.

Tyus Jones and John Konchar are two players who should get extended roles without Bane and Morant. Jones scored 23 points and added 10 assists in his only start this season. Koncchar is averaging 9.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in four starts. His 3-point percentage is 36.4% when he starts, compared to 43.5% off the bench.

The Grizzlies defeated the Wizards 103-97 in their first meeting. Washington (7-6) struggled with Steven Adams in the first meeting. He finished with 10 rebounds in 22 minutes despite leaving and returning to the game because of an ankle injury.
