On Saturday evening, Daley was knocked out of the 10m platform dive in the semi-final round. A short while later, Christian Voice posted the following tweet.

The vast majority of responses followed a similar pattern.

J.K. Rowling was among the many people who slammed the tweet.

Her comment was shared thousands of times, but it did drum up another side of the debate about whether it's a good idea to call out trolls on Twitter.

Rowling, however, was undeterred.
