Running into celebs in public is a little bit surreal because there’s always the chance that the celeb in question is actually a really convincing lookalike. The best celeb stories almost always consist of someone almost recognizing a celeb. The latest in celeb lookalike stories comes from J.K. Rowling, who shared an amazing story of a drunk man telling her she looked a lot like… herself.

The story began when a Twitter user asked if Rowling had ever been told she looks like Céline Dion, to which Rowling replied that a shopkeeper once tried to sell the writer a glittery Céline-esque gown.

This initial exchange prompted another Twitter user to ask the Harry Potter creator if she’d ever encountered a person who told her she looked like herself but was convinced she was a lookalike. Rowling responded with,

A drunk man in a bar squinted at me & said ‘are you JK Rowling?’ I panicked & said ‘no’. ‘Yeah, didn’t think so. She’s better looking.’”

Not gonna lie, the drunk man in a bar seemed pretty rude, but Rowling didn’t seem bothered by it. Her exchange prompted celebs like Monica Lewinsky and Patricia Arquette to each share their lookalike experiences.

Seriously though, we love Rowling’s Twitter. The author wasn’t even bothered by a troll accusing her of lying, while also hating on her massively popular books.

Sorry man, over a billion dollars worth of people disagree with you. Rowling, keep on owning the haters online and in real life. While you’re at it, please share a spoiler for the new Fantastic Beasts film!
