Prior to taking the stage at Night 1 of the Democratic National Convention, First Lady Michelle Obama was honored by J.J. Abrams with a video package commemorating her work for the betterment of others.

The Star Wars: The Force Awakens director/Alias creator produced the two-minute retrospective not only to pay tribute to the exiting FLOTUS, but to show the lasting impact she’s had on an entire generation of children who look up to her for her admirable public service efforts.
“The First Lady has inspired me to become a stronger, more happy and independent young female,” said one teenager interviewed for the video. Another youngin’ added that “she wants kids to get out of their house instead of just sitting there on the couch,” referencing Obama’s Let’s Move campaign to end childhood obesity.

FLOTUS most recently made headlines for an appearing alongside James Corden and Missy Elliot in Carpool Karaoke. Her Late Late Show sing-along was used as a means to promote Let Girls Learn, an initiative meant to raise funds for — and bring awareness to — the 62 million girls around the world who do not have access to education.
