Ivanka Trump Gets Real About Motherhood: "I'm Exhausted 90 Percent of the Time"

From Redbook

As you may know, Ivanka Trump is a little busy these days. She's currently in Cleveland supporting her father, presidential candidate Donald Trump, at the Republican National Convention. It's just one of the many appearances she's made over the last year on the campaign trail, in between running her own business and, oh, right, having a third baby.

In a new interview with People, the possible future First Daughter discussed the addition of son Theodore James to her family in March. "I'm exhausted 90 percent of the time," she said. "Being a mother is the most rewarding experience, but also the most wild and stressful."

She and husband Jared Kushner also have daughter Arabella, 5, and son Joseph, 3.And it sounds like the struggle of the last few months has been silencing sibling rivalries before they begin. "Arabella was incredibly excited about Theodore when I was pregnant with him, and Joseph had zero interest," she recalled. "[H]e's really a mama's boy, so I was very nervous as to how he would react to the competition in the house."

Now that Theo is here, though, the situation has flipped. "[Joseph]'s always asking to kiss him. 'Can I hug my baby, can I kiss my baby?'" she said. "And for Arabella, the novelty of Theodore wore off really quickly."

Aside from the very relatable squabbles of brothers and sisters, being a Trump kid means that life affords more than a few special little luxuries. Trump explained that Arabella has a serious sweet tooth, and so meal time gets a special arrangement where she's concerned. "I always viewed a meal as a failure if people were still hungry by dessert because I would make so many different things," she said, "but Arabella loves dessert so we now start backwards."

Hang in there, Arabella. Perhaps those little White House M&Ms are in your future.
