Italian Firefighters Hose Down Vehicles, Structures on Fire from Bologna Highway Explosion

A collision on Monday, August 6, involving a truck carrying flammable materials, caused a massive explosion that partially collapsed a Bologna highway, killed at least two people, and injured dozens more.

These videos show firefighters battling the blaze on the highway and beneath it, including a helicopter brought in to drop flame suppressors on the fire.

CCTV footage provided by police show a truck plowing into a line of other trucks, with an immediate explosion that covered the entire highway. The Italian news agency ANSA said the highway was closed and would remain closed for some time for repairs.
