Israel rejects US request to approve missile supplies to Ukraine

According to the publication, the U.S. Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, Colin Kahl, met with the Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Defense, Amir Eshel, and raised questions about the Biden administration's efforts to entice countries around the world to supply Ukraine with weapons.

According to Axios’ sources, Kahl asked Eshel whether Israel would give permission to Germany to transfer Spike anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, to which he was refused and informed that Israel would supply Ukraine with only non-lethal military equipment.

According to the source, the official said that Israel is concerned that Russian soldiers will be killed by Israeli-made weapons, which could lead to Russia harming Israeli security interests in Syria, where it has enormous influence.

Israel has previously sent a batch of 2,000 helmets and 500 bulletproof vests to emergency and non-governmental organizations in Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukraine requested that Leopard tanks, Marders, Pumas, GTK Boxers, TPz 1 Fuchs armored vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, anti-ship missiles, as well as Milan and Spike anti-tank systems be included in the German military assistance package.
