Israel's war with Hamas is coming under new scrutiny as the conditions for Gazan citizens caught in the middle continue to deteriorate.

Humanitarian organizations are struggling to provide aid and members of the international community including the United States are struggling to reconcile their unwavering support of the Israeli people with the actions of the Israeli military concerned with the escalation in Rafah.

Previously, one of the few safe havens for civilians.

The Biden administration has taken the unprecedented step of pausing arms shipments to Israel.

He doesn't want to see American weapons used in that kind of operation within Israel.

The New York Times reports that top generals and military leaders are beginning to question Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's strategy, not only in how the war is being fought, but also what comes after Hamas has been the ruling power in Gaza since 2007.

And there's no clear answer to will fill that void if and when Israel completes their mission, the frustration comes at a time when efforts to recognize Palestinian statehood in the United Nations are advancing and the UN S Court is investigating Israel's actions.

Meanwhile, cease fire talks have stalled with Netanyahu reliant on far right support to maintain his coalition government.

And at the center of all of this are the Gazan people who are increasingly finding themselves with nowhere safe to turn.
