Israel has enough weapons and ammunition to continue military operations in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip, military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Thursday.

"The army has weapons for the missions it plans and also for the missions in Rafah. We have what we need," Hagari said at a press conference.

He had previously been asked whether the military had enough munitions following a threat from US President Joe Biden.

Biden said Wednesday there could be restrictions on the supply of army equipment to Israel in the event of a large-scale military offensive in Rafah, which Washington opposes.

In view of Biden's remark, Hagari emphasized that relations between Israel and the US remain close.

"The US has provided unprecedented security assistance to the state of Israel and the military during the war," he said, adding that differences are resolved behind closed doors.

"Israel has security interests, but we are also aware of the interests of the US. And we will continue to act in this way," said Hagari.
