Islamic State Claims Responsibility for Hilla Attack That Kills Scores of People

At least 80 people were killed when an explosive tank ripped through a petrol station in Shomali in south Hilla on November 24, according to reports from Iraq.

Shiite pilgrims coming from Karbala were among the victims, Shia media said. At least eight buses caught fire in the explosion, another report said.

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack and said through its affiliated news agency, Amaq, saying that more than 200 hundred Shiite pilgrims were killed.
