For those who need help filing or have questions or concerns, IRS spokesman Luis Garcia said the agency is offering free and additional help to residents at the Columbus Taxpayer Assistance Center on Saturday.

“It’s not what you typically have to do and call us and set an appointment,” Gracia said. “It’s open, walk in, come as you are, and bring all your documents that you need handled. And it’s going to be from 9 a.m. to 4 o’clock this Saturday.”

The center is located at 200 North High Street. Garcia said the agency is also seeing internal improvements compared to last year.

Funding created room for more representatives. Communication is at a record high with 86% of calls being answered this year, compared to 14% last year.
