Irma Dillard Rogers is recognized with Shreveport street dedication

Irma Dillard Rogers has spent decades volunteering with organizations to help improve Shreveport and Friday morning she was recognized for those efforts with a street dedication at the corner on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and Michoud Street.

“I’m very very humbled, especially since I’m still alive, and I thank God for that,” Rogers said.

A brown sign with her name, just above the street names, was unveiled during the ceremony attended more than 20 people.

“This honor is due to her for the many lives she has impacted and will continue to impact in Shreveport,” said Councilwoman Tabatha Taylor. “She is indeed a viable change agent and we are blessed to have her.”
