Irish Festival underway in Watertown

Mar. 15—WATERTOWN — Preparation for the 36th Annual North Country Goes Green Irish Festival was in full swing Friday afternoon, with people decorating, vendors setting up their stations and cooks firing up the stoves.

The celebration of Irish culture continues Saturday and Sunday at the Dulles State Office Building. Admission is $3 Saturday and free for everyone on Sunday. Irish foods are available on the first and 11th floors. The offerings include fish and chips, shepherd's pie, bangers and mash and Reuben and corned beef sandwiches.

Live music will play on the first floor throughout the day Saturday and Sunday, featuring Merry Mischief, Ikeys Crossing, the Tom O'Riley Duo, the Garden City Fiddlers and Johnston Irish Step Dancers.

There will be a special performance in the auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Saturday featuring Undefeated and When We Were Thirty. Admission to the auditorium costs $5.

Cornhole tournaments on the 11th floor begin at noon Saturday and Sunday.

The festival's parade begins at 1 p.m. Sunday.
