Iraqi community to march against ISIS on Queen St

Auckland's Iraqi community is hoping a march on Queen Street today will capture people's attention.

Event organiser Danny Kettoola says the aim is to highlight a barbaric situation in Iraq.

He says thousands of Christians and other minorities being persecuted for not converting to Islam.

"Anyone that is different to the Islamic faith or doesn't agree with them is just being slaughtered or asked to convert."

The demonstration begins with a meeting including speakers from the Iraqi community at St Patrick’s Cathedral on Wyndham Street at 2pm.
