Apple’s (AAPL) next-generation iPhone, a mock-up of which is pictured above, will reportedly be one of the thinnest smartphones in the world when it launches next month. According to a report from Chinese blog Apple.pro, Taiwan-based paper Apple Daily recently published a lengthy piece about Apple’s “iPhone 5″ including purported final measurements of the device.

The report states that the dimensions of Apple’s next iPhone will come to 58.47 millimeters wide by 123.83 millimeters long by 7.6 millimeters thick. That final stat would make the iPhone a full 1 millimeter thinner than the Samsung (005930) Galaxy S III, and 0.2 millimeters thinner than HTC’s (2498) remarkably thin One S.

Since iPhone housings and other components have been finding their way into the hands of various parts distributors and examined on video several times, it is likely that these specs are indeed accurate, though nothing is confirmed until Apple unveils the new iPhone during a press conference on September 12th. The sixth-generation iPhone is then expected to launch a week later on September 21st, featuring a 4-inch display, an integrated 4G LTE radio and NFC connectivity.
