Iowa to wear alternate all-black uniforms against Ohio State (Video)
Much like it did with an upset win over Michigan last fall, Iowa has the chance to alter the course of the college football season on Saturday when Ohio State comes into Kinnick Stadium.
For the occasion, the Hawkeyes will wear alternate uniforms. Iowa is encouraging fans to wear black to the game and the uniforms follow a similar theme.

If you look closely in the video there are a few cool details. First of all, the helmet having the Tigerhawk logo on one side and the player’s number on the other side looks great. Also, you can see several block “I” logos patterning the inside of the numbers.
Iowa last wore alternate uniforms against Minnesota in 2015 (also all-black; see above), when the Hawkeyes finished the regular season undefeated. Iowa won the game, 40-35.
This season, Iowa, coming off a 17-10 win over Minnesota on Saturday, is 5-3 with a 2-3 mark in Big Ten play.
Ohio State will come into Iowa City for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff after a dramatic comeback win over previously unbeaten Penn State on Saturday. The Buckeyes are ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 and will likely be in the top four of the College Football Playoff committee’s first set of rankings when they are revealed on Tuesday night.
