Georgetown transfer Tre King is enrolled at Iowa State, though his Cyclones basketball career won't officially begin until next season.

“Tre will provide an immediate impact to our program with the combination of his character, versatility and experience,” coach T.J. Otzelberger said in a statement released by the athletics department. "He has the unique ability to shoot the three, make plays attacking closeouts, as well as finish through contact at the rim.

"Defensively, he can guard multiple positions and be an impactful rebounder. We’re excited to have Tre enhance the competition of our practice environment each day.”

King, a 6-foot-7 forward whose career started at Eastern Kentucky, announced his commitment to Iowa State on Dec. 1. It was unknown at that time if he would play immediately, or during the 2022-23 season.
