Voiced by Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali and Michael Dorn, respectively, the two characters were sidelined in the second season – so fans will no doubt be delighted to see their comeback in the upcoming episodes.

Invincible follows the transformation of Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) into superhero Invincible under the guidance of his father Nolan/Omni-Man (JK Simmons), the most powerful superhero on the planet.

After debuting in 2021, the show was swiftly renewed for both second and third seasons, with Kirkman praising streamer Prime Video for their "support and dedication" in bringing the comic series to life.

"The comic book is truly a love letter to a genre that [artist Cory Walker] and I grew up reading and loving, and it's been a gratifying journey to watch our characters come to life again through the animated series," he added at the time.

"We're beyond excited to continue this story for at least two more seasons."

As well as Yeun and Simmons, the series also features the voice talents of Sandra Oh, Gillian Jacobs, Andrew Rannells, Zazie Beets, Zachary Quinto, Ross Marquand and Jason Mantzoukas.

Invincible seasons 1 and 2 are streaming now on Prime Video, with season 3 in the works.
