Investigation underway after woman found dead in Rogers Park

CHICAGO — Police are investigating after a woman was found dead on the city’s Far North Side on Saturday morning.

According to Chicago police, officers were called to the scene in the 1200 block of West Sherwin Avenue, near Jarvis Beach in Rogers Park, just before 6:30 a.m., following reports that a woman had been found unresponsive in the area.

Officers say the 63-year-old woman was later pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have not provided details on where exactly the woman was found or what may have led to her death.

Authorities say a death investigation is underway, pending autopsy results and officers have not yet identified the woman.
