Investigation underway for teen shot and killed in Lancaster: Sheriff

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — An 18-year-old has died after being shot late Friday night in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to a shooting at 2116 Zion Road.

When they arrived, they found an 18-year-old man being helped by his family in the road across from his house, officials said. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members say the victim was outside when gunshots were heard. He was found on the ground across the road.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting, however, investigators believe this was not a random incident, and the public is not believed to be in danger.
