The City of Aurora said signs will be up to direct traffic off the interstate to a detour.

Eastbound traffic will be directed off of the interstate at the Tower Road exit. Drivers can follow the detour south on Tower Road then turn east on Colfax Avenue, staying on Colfax until the next I-70 entrance near Picadilly Road.

The same goes for westbound traffic, which will be directed off the interstate at Colfax Avenue. Drivers can stay on Colfax, then turn north onto Tower Road which will lead them back to I-70.

The new pedestrian bridge is part of the Aurora High Line Canal Trail improvement project, which is expected to be completed this spring.
