Interstate 255 accident leaves two hospitalized

ST. LOUIS COUNTY – Two people were taken to the hospital after a wreck on eastbound Interstate 255 at the Jefferson Barracks Bridge. The wreck occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th.

A 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis was traveling south on Interstate 255 when a 2024 Volvo Tractor made an unsafe lane change into the car’s lane. The semi-truck collided with the car, causing it to spin in a circle.

The car veered off the left side of the road and struck a concrete wall. It then corrected its course and reentered the road, where the semi-truck collided with it again, this time on the passenger side.

Both the driver and passenger were taken to a nearby hospital, with the passenger sustaining serious injuries.
