Women from 18 Ohio breweries came together at Nocterra Brewing Co. in Powell to brew a beer in honor of International Women's Day on Wednesday.

The beer, a strawberry rhubarb Berliner Weisse, is named "All Places," inspired by a quote from the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg:

"Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn't be that women are the exception."

Representing some of Ohio's most popular breweries, including Seventh Son Brewing Co., Great Lakes Brewing Co., Rhinegeist Brewery and Wolf's Ridge Brewery, the group also included Hocking College and the Ohio Craft Brewers Association.

The beer will be available on draft at Nocterra and several of the participating breweries, with 6-packs available for carryout at Nocterra. A portion of beer sales will benefit the Women's City Club of Delaware.

Women from multiple Columbus area breweries have collaborated for International Women's Day since 2016 as part of a larger annual initiative that encourages women all over the world to create a special beer on or near the holiday.

The initiative was driven by a desire to recognize the contributions of women in the beer industry and to highlight the importance of women's participation in decision-making roles.

The All Places collaboration isn't the only brew to be released on International Women's Day, as several Ohio craft breweries are planning beer releases this year.

Ill Mannered Brewing in Powell has released Who Run the World Vol. 5 hazy IPA and a special fruited variant, sold on draft and in 4-packs with some proceeds to benefit the nonprofit POEM, or Perinatal Outreach and Encouragement for Moms and birthing parents.

Combustion Brewery will release Little Boots session IPA, the first of their two International Women’s Day beers, on Wednesday at their taprooms in Pickerington and Clintonville. The second, Big Boots double IPA, will be released on March 30.

The beers feature the Yakima Chief Pink Boots hop blend. Boots Society partners with Yakima for the annual fundraiser, which benefits Pink Boots Society's mission to support the advancement of women in the brewery industry.

And breweries across the state, including Columbus Brewing Company, will hold staff women's brew days on Wednesday. The beer CBC brews that day will be released on draft in late March or early April.

A non-comprehensive list can be found on the Ohio Craft Brewers Association's website.
