Inter Miami finally reveals its inaugural away jersey. Here’s what it looks like.

No more wondering what the Inter Miami uniform will look like. David Beckham’s new Major League Soccer team unveiled its inaugural away jersey on Wednesday night in New York City as part of the league’s 25th anniversary celebration.

The black Adidas shirt has three pink accent stripes on the shoulder and embossed herons taken from the team’s logo. The inaugural 2020 season logo can be found on the bottom right hand corner, and the club’s motto: “Freedom to Dream” is on the inside of the collar. The shirt’s nickname is “The RosaNegra” (the pink and black) in English and “La RosaNegra” in Spanish.

Inter Miami U14 Academy players Axel Perez and Fernando Sanchez were flown to New York by the club to model the jerseys at the leaguewide fashion show, alongside the other 25 clubs. They were chosen because co-owners Beckham and Jorge Mas have stressed the importance of the club’s youth academy.

Both boys are Cuban-American, which embodies the Hispanic culture of the club. Perez, 13, is a creative midfielder who is considered among the top players in the country at his age. Sanchez is center back/defensive midfielder who also has stood out in the first academy’s opening season.

The Inter Miami away jersey is available for order via the club’s Instagram account (@InterMiamiCF) and on the club’s online store at www.mlsstore.com/inter-miami-cf/

The home jersey, expected to be pink with black trim, will be revealed in the next few weeks.

Inter Miami is training in Bradenton through Thursday, then returning to Ft. Lauderdale, where it will face the USL team Charleston Battery on Friday in a closed-door scrimmage. The team will take the weekend off and resume camp at the club’s new training facility next week before heading to St. Petersburg for a Feb. 15 preseason match against the Philadelphia Union. The game will be at 4 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium and is open to the public. Admission is free.

The team will remain in the St. Petersburg/Tampa area until Feb. 22, when it plays a friendly match against the USL Tampa Bay Rowdies at Al Lang Stadium. That match is also open and free to the public.

“We’ve been training and playing against each other a lot, so to be able to compete as a unit for the first time against a different team this Friday, everyone’s going to be excited, ready to go,” said midfielder Luis Argudo.

Coach Diego Alonso said the team is making good progress, and he will have a better idea of the group’s strengths and weaknesses after the upcoming scrimmages. He is optimistic that the club will sign one or two Designated Players soon. A league source and multiple reports from Mexico said Inter Miami is negotiating with Mexican national team midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro, who played for Alonso at Monterrey.

Meanwhile, forward Julian Carranza, who injured his left foot at practice last week, is still unable to practice. Alonso said he is not sure when Carranza will return. The season opening game is Mar. 1 on the road at Los Angeles FC.
