A driver was likely trying to show off his fancy whip when things went badly… pretty quickly.
Immediately after pulling out of a parking lot, the driver of a red Ford Mustang starts to rip through the streets – only to lose control of his vehicle and crash into another car.
The whole event – from merging onto the road to burning his rubber to losing control and to the eventual crash – took well under 10 seconds, and has us wondering, “how?”
The road, flat and free of potholes, has no snow on it, it’s not raining, there’s no fog, it’s midday and he’s driving a nicely designed, modern day car.
The driver was leaving a car convention called ‘Cars and Coffee’ in Chicago when the smartphone video was taken. A few people are seen standing around, taking videos of the sleek cars leaving the event, which might have made him want to put on a show.
In the YouTube description of the video, the uploader writes that moments before this crash happened, “there was a Pontiac GTO that did the same thing before.”
But luckily for him and all of the drivers on the road, he didn’t hit anything and nobody was hurt.
A few seconds after the crash, the driver gets out of the car, inspects the damage and throws his hands up into the air.
Well, Mr. Driver, if you had been driving sensibly your pretty Mustang wouldn’t need a facelift.
