Inspire Inclusion: International Women’s Day 2024

On March 8th, 2024, as the world celebrates International Women’s Day, the Pass the Torch for Women Foundation will illuminate the Indianapolis Arts Garden with their signature breakfast event, embracing this year’s theme of “Inspire Inclusion.”

Samantha Burke, the passionate Executive Director of the foundation, eagerly anticipates this annual gathering. Reflecting on the essence of International Women’s Day, she shares, “my favorite part about International Women’s Day is being around inspiring women who are going to inspire me to think differently, encourage me to be the best most favorite version of myself and know that I have an amazing community that’s going to stand beside us all as we continue to figure out this thing called life.”

Burke emphasizes the event’s profound impact on the community, highlighting its role in fostering inclusivity and empowerment. “This event is so important for our community because not only are we talking about important things on a big stage but inspiring inclusion, how we empower women but the sense of community, the sense of building that relationship with you neighbor that you might not know is so critical because you never know when you can connect those dots. Those who are new to this event can expect to feel like your cup is being filled and their hope is that you’re going to take that cup that’s so full and just pour it out into the community. You will learn things, you will be inspired by those around you, you will learn about all these amazing vendors in our community as well as we inspire inclusion together.”

This year, the foundation is proud to introduce two esteemed awards: the Carla Perinne Perry Scholarship and the Mentoring Pair of the Year. The Carla Perinne Perry Scholarship holds special significance as it will honor an exceptional student from their Project Grow program and the Mentoring Pair of the Year will recognize individuals whose unwavering dedication to mentorship and support has made a tangible difference in the lives of others. Rest assured, their stories will captivate and inspire all in attendance.

For those unable to secure tickets, the foundation offers a virtual experience via livestream, ensuring that the spirit of empowerment reaches far and wide. Additionally, on March 21st, they will join forces with the Girl Scouts of Central Indiana and the Girl Coalition of Indiana for the inaugural INspire Her summit, an event aimed at nurturing leadership among young women.
