Inmate found dead at Cleveland County Detention Center, deputies say

An inmate was found dead in his cell early Tuesday at the Cleveland County Detention Center, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Brandon Allen Curry was found unresponsive at around 1:49 a.m.

Officers did CPR on him while EMS was called to the detention center. Curry was pronounced dead by EMS shortly after.

The sheriff’s office contacted the State Bureau of Investigations to investigate the death, as is standard protocol.

The sheriff’s office is also conducting an internal investigation.

No further information was released.
