AMSTERDAM (AP) _ ING Groep NV (ING) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $1.7 billion.

The bank, based in Amsterdam, said it had earnings of 44 cents per share.

The financial services provider posted revenue of $5.35 billion in the period. Its revenue net of interest expense was $5.35 billion, which beat Street forecasts.

ING shares have dropped 18 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 20 percent in the last 12 months.
