Indio police investigate shooting that injured two men

Two men were injured after a shooting in Indio on Monday evening, according to the Indio Police Department.

The department received a call regarding a shooting in the 44-700 block of Palm Street around 5:30 p.m., said Indio police spokesperson Benjamin Guitron. He said officers found the two men with gunshot wounds at the scene and they were both taken to the hospital.

"We don't know what led to the incident or how it occurred," Guitron said.

He added at least one victim is in stable condition. Detectives are investigating the incident.
