India's Shah Rukh Khan glad to film in Kashmir

NEW DELHI (AP) — Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he has finally fulfilled his dead father's wish and traveled to the Indian-held part of Kashmir to shoot his latest film.

The actor wrote on his Twitter account this week that his father wanted to take him to Kashmir because his mother was from there.

"Now i am here, it feels i am in his big strong arms," the actor tweeted.

News reports say Khan plays an army officer in the film.

Kashmir's beautiful hills and valleys made it a popular location for film shoots up until the late 1980s, when rebel groups began to fight Indian rule in the area. The violence has ebbed in recent years and tourists and a few filmmakers are venturing back.
