Indiana unveils special uniforms honoring late coach Terry Hoeppner
When Indiana hosts Georgia Southern on Sept. 23, the team will wear special uniforms honoring late Hoosiers head coach Terry Hoeppner.
The “Hep’s Rock” alternate combination, which was unveiled Thursday in conjunction with adidas, is a tribute to the 10-year anniversary of Hoeppner’s death.

Hoeppner, IU’s coach in 2005 and 2006 before his death from brain cancer in 2007, had the limestone boulder previously located at IU’s practice field moved to the north end zone of Memorial Stadium. The Hoosiers would touch “The Rock” before running onto the field prior to each home game.
The uniforms are “centered around a subtle limestone graphic” and feature the classic Indiana script logo. The player numbers also feature a limestone pattern to match the combination’s limestone pants.
Indiana, entering its first season with Tom Allen as full-time head coach, opens its season next Thursday night at home against Ohio State.
