Indiana construction company planning to expand Fort Wayne operations, add about 100 workers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) -- Construction company Shambaugh & Son plans to expand its Fort Wayne operations by enlarging two facilities and adding workers.

Shambaugh & Son announced Wednesday that it would spend about $4 million to lease and equip a new fabrication shop and expand its existing headquarters to house administrative and engineering functions. Both facilities are expected to be open by September.

Shambaugh specializes in construction of industrial and commercial buildings. It has nearly 1,200 workers in Indiana, including about 525 in Fort Wayne. Company officials say they expect to add about 100 workers in Fort Wayne over the next couple years.
