Indian River schools mourn death of man found in Baltimore Inner Harbor

The Indian River School District is mourning the death of 25-year-old Elbridge "Ridge" Murray, who was found dead in the water near the Inner Harbor in Baltimore on Friday.

He was an Indian River High School graduate and the son of two district employees, Bennett Murray, John M. Clayton Elementary School assistant principal, and Dana Murray, Southern Delaware School of the Arts paraprofessional.

Elbridge Murray was reported missing after last being seen at about 11 p.m. Nov. 24, the night before Thanksgiving. He had attended a party in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore, police said.

His body was found off the 700 block of Aliceanna Street, also in Fells Point.

Police do not suspect foul play. The state medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death.

A Facebook post shared by the Indian River School District said Elbridge died "from injuries sustained during an accident." He was operating a scooter at the time he went missing, according to a missing person flyer.

“We are heartbroken over the passing of Ridge Murray ... who was well-liked by those who had the pleasure of knowing him," said Superintendent Jay Owens. "For him to be taken at such a young age is a profound tragedy."
