PRATTVILLE − Incumbent Autauga County District Judge Jessica Sanders won the Republican nomination during Tuesday's primary according to complete but unofficial results.

Sanders collected 4,883 votes to challenger Kyle Shirley’s 4,048. There is no Democratic candidate qualified in the November general election.

Sanders was appointed in 2022 to fill out the unexpired term of former district judge Joy Booth, who was elected circuit judge.

“We love Autauga County and are so thankful for our community’s support,” Sanders said. "I look forward to continuing to serve our great hometown.”

Shirley, a Prattville attorney, also sought the appointment to the judgeship.

“I have dedicated my life and career to upholding the law and serving our community, and tonight’s results do nothing to change that,” Shirley said. “I am proud of the campaign we ran. My family and I look forward to continuing to serve the community that has made me who I am.”
