When Is Inauguration Day 2017?

Congress is almost certain to confirm Trump's presidency Friday, despite possible protests from Democrats.

The inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States will take place on Jan. 20, 2017, in Washington, D.C. The ceremonies will begin Jan. 19 and continue till Jan. 21 with famous personalities, including A-list models, actors and musicians, attending the events.

Inaugural events for Trump are scheduled to begin with a welcome celebration kicking off the events followed by the president-elect and Vice President-elect Mike Pence laying a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery. That event will be followed by a welcome concert at the Lincoln Memorial. The official proceedings of Inauguration Day will commence around noon at the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 20 with the vice president-elect and president-elect taking the Oaths of Office, followed by the inaugural address.

The Inaugural Parade will take place at the conclusion of the inauguration with Trump and Pence making their way from the Capitol to the White House down Pennsylvania Avenue as part of a parade that includes high school and college bands, motorcycle and cavalry units, veterans and active members of the military, and the Boy Scouts of America, among others.

An official inaugural ball will take place with an appearance by Trump and his wife Melania. Unofficial balls will take place to celebrate Trump as the new president of the U.S.

  • Deploraball, Jan. 20: The reception begins at 7 p.m. at the Bolger Center in Bethesda, Md., just outside Washington.

  • Sister Cities International Inaugural Gala, Jan. 17: Showcasing citizen diplomats in peace across world peace efforts. Tickets priced at $150-$250.

  • Bluegrass Ball, Jan. 18: Sponsored by the Kentucky Society of Washington with tickets at $300-$350.

  • Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball, Jan. 19: Sponsored by the Texas State Society of Washington, D.C.

  • Deplorables Inaugural Ball, Jan. 19: Taking place at Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. General Admission, $500; VIP, $1,000; VIP Table of 10, $10,000.

  • All American Inaugural Ball, Jan. 19: To be held at Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill.

  • Garden State Inaugural Gala, Jan. 19: Sponsored by the New Jersey State Society.

  • 2017 Inaugural Heartland Ball, Jan. 19: To be held at Marriott Marquis

  • South Carolina Presidential Inaugural Ball, Jan. 19: To be held at National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum.

  • The Vettys Inaugural Ball and Awards, Jan. 20: The event is hosted by the Coalition to Salute American Heroes, Military Order of the Purple Heart and Disabled American Veterans with Paralyzed Veterans of America as a non-partisan celebration.

  • Inauguration Day at the Newseum, Jan. 20: An all-inclusive "Presidential Inauguration Celebration Experience" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Newseum, located on the inaugural parade route on historic Pennsylvania Avenue.

  • Native Nations Inaugural Ball, Jan. 20: This event will take place at the National Museum of the American Indian, Fourth Street & Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, D.C.

  • Dardanella: The Great Gatsby Presidential Inaugural Ball, Jan. 20: The event will be held at National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution.

  • Salute to Heroes/Veterans Inaugural Ball, Jan. 20: American Legion and Veterans Inaugural Committee host a tribute to America's Medal of Honor recipients and Trump.

According to reports, Hillary Clinton will attend Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, while former U.S. President Bill Clinton is also expected to attend Trump’s swearing-in ceremony. Former president George W. Bush and his wife, Laura Bush, are also expected to attend Trump’s inaugural ceremony. The 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter was the first former president to confirm he would be in attendance at the 2017 inauguration.
