New, improved Venture Cars for San Joaquins Amtrak travelers

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority (SJJPA) and the California Department of Transporation (Caltrans) celebrated and announced the launch of the new Venture Cars for travel across the Amtrak San Joaquins services.

Organizers say the new Venture Cars are highlighted for their new interior enhancements, upgraded seating, advanced technological integrations, enhanced lighting, and refined passenger notification systems. Accessibility for riders with disabilities has also been improved.

Some extra highlights of the new Venture Cars include:

  • One of Amtrak’s most comfortable rides yet.

  • Enhanced new tech features, ready to meet connectivity needs such as a WiFi system, built-in outlets, and USB connections to power devices.

  • Improved ease of access for riders with disabilities.

  • Easy to follow safety standards as the San Joaquin corridor has Positive Train Control equipment, as it provides for train speed motoring and automatic braking for accident prevention.

  • They are produced locally, as the Venture Rail Cars were manufactured locally in Sacramento, which is a corridor city of the Amtrak San Joaquins, by Siemens.
