A 2006 Ford F-250 was going west on Calico Road when it crossed the center line and drove off the left side of the road, highway patrol said. The car then hit a tree and overturned before landing on the driver’s side in a creek.
The driver, 25-year-old David Patterson Jr., was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
Investigators believe impairment was a contributing factor in the collision. The road was closed for about two hours during the on-scene investigation.
