SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Genetic analysis instrument maker Illumina Inc. said Thursday that a federal judge ruled in its favor in a lawsuit brought by Life Technologies Corp.
Illumina said a judge for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California granted Illumina's request for summary judgment and ruled that Illumina's gene sequencing systems don't infringe on three patents. It said Life Technologies filed the lawsuit in 2009.
Shares of Illumina rose 24 cents to close at $53.13. Life Technologies shares fell $1.22 to end the day at $64.05.
