Illinois State Police investigate fatal shooting at East St. Louis restaurant

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — Illinois State Police are investigating a deadly shooting in East St. Louis at a restaurant on State Street. Police said the shooting sent two people to the hospital.

ISP said in a statement that they are still investigating the shooting’s cause, but they have confirmed that both inside and outside the restaurant, shots fired. Police released limited information but confirmed that they took two people to the hospital, where one of them died.

A statement from the McDonald’s restaurant manager said, “We are deeply saddened and are fully cooperating with authorities.”
