Igloo child bottles recalled for choking hazard

(WHTM) – Thousands of children’sstainless steel sipper bottles are being recalled for a choking hazard.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says Igloo Products 12 oz. youth sipper bottles, sold online and at regional retailers, are impacted because the cover can detach while in use, causing a choking hazard, the CPSC says.

The bottles are stainless steel and the lid has a silicone cover on the sipper. They were sold in a variety of colors, and about 31,500 were sold.

Anyone who bought the bottles should immediately take them away from children. They should then remove the spout, cut it into two pieces, take a photo of those pieces, and discard the bottle.

The photos are to be sent to Igloo Products at customerservice@shop.igloocoolers.com to receive a refund in the form of a store credit, gift card, or replacement bottle.

If you purchased it in-store, you can take the original receipt to the store to receive a direct refund.

No injuries have been reported from the hazard.
