DIY Teeth Whitening vs. Professional Treatments

If you’re looking to make your pearly whites a little whiter, there’s no shortage of products and services to choose from. But the most inexpensive option by far is to go DIY with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and strawberries. (Yes, strawberries. As this BuzzFeed video notes, the malic acid helps fight stains.)

Total cost for two weeks of treatment is less than $6, compared to $21.49 for a box of Crest Whitestrips.

But does it really work? BuzzFeed did a two-week test to find out. Watch the video above to see how DIY fared against the competition.
