IDENTIFIED: Man killed in Fresno shooting, 1 suspect wanted

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno Police Department has identified a wanted suspect who allegedly killed a man and injured a 13-year-old during a shooting Tuesday night.

Police say at 5:30 p.m., officers responded to Fairmont and Holt avenues near Marks and Shaw avenues for a ShotSpotter activation.

Officers say they found 37-year-old Xavier Gladney suffering from a gunshot wound. Gladney was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later died. A picture of the victim is below.

A 13-year-old juvenile was dropped off at Community Regional Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. His identity was not officially released.

Investigators say the juvenile was at the home when Gladney was fatally shot.

Homicide detectives say they have identified a suspect 33-year-old Darren Williams.

According to police, a warrant for murder and assault with a deadly weapon has been issued for his arrest.

Police say the motive for this shooting stems from a gang-related interpersonal dispute.
