IDENTIFIED: Man dead after 2 shootings in Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who was killed in one of the two shootings in the City of Fresno over the weekend has been identified by the Fresno Police Department on Monday.

On Sunday, officers say they responded to the 4200 block of North Fruit Avenue in Fresno regarding a report of a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers say they located 38-year-old Deandre Jackson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to CRMC for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.

At 12:45 p.m., officers say they received another call of a shooting victim, this time in the 3100 block of West Norwich Avenue. The victim was identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to CRMC and is still listed in critical but stable condition.

According to detectives, it was discovered that the shooting of the 16-year-old juvenile was related to the shooting on North Fruit Avenue.

Detectives say they learned that there was an argument in a parking lot involving several people before the gunshots were fired. At this time, detectives are continuing to identify and interview witnesses, as well as reviewing video surveillance from the area.

Detectives have determined that this was an isolated incident between a group of individuals who were acquainted with each other. They say this was the fourth murder of 2024.
