SOUTH BEND — The city is asking the public for suggestions on where to install additional Wi-Fi sites through the South Bend Open Wi-Fi network.

The city provides free, publicly accessible internet at locations throughout South Bend, and it is asking people where to put more sites.

There currently are more than 50 locations throughout the city.

“Access to reliable internet helps members of our community thrive,” said Mayor James Mueller, in a statement. “This expansion marks an exciting opportunity to build on the network’s success and extend its reach as we work to promote equity and connectivity in South Bend.”

Any space open to the public can be nominated. To nominate a space for Open Wi-Fi, go to southbendin.gov/2022wifi or call 311.
