Icy conditions cause 9-vehicle crash on I-25 near Castle Rock

DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado State Patrol said nine vehicles overall were involved in a crash on Interstate 25 early Saturday morning.

The call for the crash, located on southbound I-25 near mile marker 185 just north of Castle Rock, came in at 6:10 a.m.

Initially, six vehicles were involved, but more crashes took place behind it.

Minor injuries were reported.

The icy road conditions were considered a factor in the crash. Because of this, the Colorado Department of Transportation went out to take a look at the road conditions as well, according to state patrol.

The roadway has since been reopened.
